About the Author:

Cardinal Francis Arinze was born in Nigeria on November 1, 1932.  He was ordained a priest in Rome (1958), appointed Archbishop to the See of Onitsha in 1967 and elevated to a Cardinal in 1985.  He served as President of the Secretariat for Non Christians, the precursor to the current Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, until October 1, 2002,  when he was named, Prefect of Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.
